The stories of the Krivopetas, wild women with their feet turned in the opposite direction, are part of the rich tradition of the Upper Soča region. They often lived apart from people, in the shelter of caves and nature, but they enriched the villages with their wisdom of coexistence, knowledge of self-sufficiency and handicrafts - when relationships were based on respect, acceptance and openness of heart.
The Krivopetas had a deep respect for nature, its cycles and rhythms. Their lives reflected the wisdom of their ancestors, their uniqueness and untamed wildness, which we too want to preserve and pass on.
